Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Palna: Mother & Baby Care (“Palna”, “we”, “us”), the app and the palnacare.com website, published by Toolbox Services. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains what we do with your information. Questions: hello@palnacare.com.

1. Who can use Palna

You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. Palna is for parents and caregivers to record information about children they look after. Only add a child if you are their parent, guardian or caregiver, or have their parent's permission.

You are responsible for your account. Keep your password private, and tell us straight away at hello@palnacare.com if you think someone else has used it.

2. Not medical advice

Palna shows general information from sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the NHS, the CDC and Pakistan's Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI): growth charts, vaccine schedules, feeding and solids guidance, milestones and emergency advice. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it does not replace advice from a doctor, nurse or vaccinator.

• If your baby seems unwell, or you are worried, contact a doctor. In an emergency, call Rescue 1122 or Edhi 115, or go to the nearest hospital.
• Vaccine schedules change and can differ by province. Always confirm dates with your vaccinator or child specialist.
• Medicine doses in the app are the ones you enter. Always follow your doctor's prescription and the medicine's label.
• Averages, “typical ranges” and estimates (such as when the next feed may be) describe patterns; they are not targets or instructions. Every baby is different.
• Reminders are shown by your phone. They can be delayed or missed, for example if notifications are turned off, the battery is low or the phone is off. Don't rely on them alone for medicines or vaccines.

3. Your information

What you enter in Palna belongs to you. You give us permission to store, copy and process it only as needed to run the app: to back it up, sync it between your phones and your family members' phones, and show you calculations and reports. We don't sell it or use it for advertising. The privacy policy has the details.

You are responsible for what you enter. Please keep it accurate, and don't enter information about anyone other than the children in your care and your family.

4. Families and invitations

• The person who adds a baby is the family's owner. The owner can invite others with a one-time code and can remove them.
• Everyone in a family can see all of its babies and entries, and can add, change or delete entries. Only invite people you trust with your child's information.
• If you leave a family or delete your account, the family's babies and entries stay with the other members. If you were the only owner, the member who joined next becomes the owner.

5. Using Palna fairly

Please don't use Palna to break the law, to try to see other people's data, to interfere with or overload the service, or to copy or resell it. We may suspend or close accounts that do, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents us.

6. The service

Palna works offline and syncs when you are connected. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that significantly affects you, we'll tell you in the app first.

Palna is free to use at the moment. If we introduce paid features, we will say so clearly before you pay anything, and purchases will be handled by Google Play or the App Store under their terms.

7. Ending your account

You can stop using Palna and delete your account at any time: in the app, go to Settings, then Delete my account. See delete your account for what is removed.

8. Responsibility

Palna is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions made using information in the app, or for indirect losses, such as data you did not sync before losing your phone. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility or right that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant. If you keep using Palna after a change, the new terms apply.
